Welcome to No Bad Cards!

Created by Lindsay Mack, founder of Tarot for the Wild Soul (and host of the podcast of the same name), No Bad Cards is dedicated to helping Tarot readers of all experience levels – from budding newbies to seasoned professionals – transform their practice by befriending and considering the cards in new and expansive ways.

No Bad Cards features intuitive monthly downloads for the month and astrological seasons ahead, unique Tarot lessons, Tarot spreads, and so much more.

Why No Bad Cards

My partner has been joking that “no bad cards” should be my slogan for a few years now, and they’re absolutely right. No Bad Cards is my why, my ethos, and my North Star. It is at the heart of everything I do as a Tarot worker.

I’ve been a professional Tarot reader and teacher for nearly 10 years now, and have been reading Tarot for myself for over 25 years. I’ve had the privilege of reading for thousands of folks, and teaching tens of thousands of practitioners in my online courses alone, and reaching millions of folks who listen to my podcast.

In all the years that I’ve been reading, teaching, and serving my community, I’ve never once come across a “bad” pull, or a “bad” card for anyone. In fact, the only “bad” experience I’ve had is when I bump up against a very old paradigm interpretation of a card, or stumble across a description of a card that invites me into fear and hypervigilance. While likely well intentioned, it’s not the most helpful, practical, or critically thoughtful consideration of a card’s invitation. It’s also not going to help us to come home to ourselves in difficult moments, which is exactly what we want a Tarot practice to offer us.

It is my humble opinion that all Tarot cards bring medicine – that all cards are here to be of service, and want to help us. When we can begin to see our Tarot pulls as being for our growth and service, for our continued expansion and self tending, our practice and relationship with the Tarot can be utterly transformed. This is the essence and “why” for my desire to create this newsletter.

Who is Lindsay Mack?

Hi! I’m Lindsay, and my pronouns are they/them. I am a queer intuitive Tarot reader and teacher, death doula, mom, and partner, as well as the founder of Tarot for the Wild Soul, and the host of Tarot for the Wild Soul podcast, which has been downloaded over eight million times since it launched into the world in 2017. My first book on the Tarot (and Tarot deck!) is set to be released by Running Press in 2026.

My work has been featured in The New York Times, HuffPost, The WayWard, Bust Magazine, and Refinery 29. I’ve been featured as an expert on Tarot in several published books, including Ruby Warrington’s Material Girl, Mystical World and Kate Scelsa’s Luminary, to name a few.

I am the creator of Soul Tarot, which is a gentle reinterpretation and intentional utilization of the Tarot as a non-predictive helping tool, one that can assist us in differentiating the noise of our thinking mind from the truth of our soul. Through my workshops, retreats, and online Tarot courses through Soul Tarot School, I have had the profound honor of teaching Soul Tarot to tens of thousands of people from all around the world.

As a joyful survivor of childhood abuse, complex PTSD, and chronic pain/illness, I am passionately dedicated to honoring and helping to bring space, light, and healing to those who are experiencing mental, emotional, or physical challenges. It is an organic part of my own personal healing work with the Tarot, and I am honored to be sharing these offerings with those who feel called to them.

Beyond my work with the Tarot, I’m a mother to a delicious dream of a Pisces, and have been with my Scorpio beloved for 15 years. I live in the forest in the PNW, and spend most of my free time out in nature with my family. I was born and raised in New Jersey around Sopranos country, and lived in Brooklyn, NY for 12 years. I have a deep love for bottom of the barrel reality TV (Housewives forever), weird comedies (How To with John Wilson forever), and am usually reading something 1. about death and dying, or pastoral care, 2. about folklore, or 3. some kind of YA graphic novel.

Who is No Bad Cards for?

  • Folks who are seeking a trauma informed, compassionate, inclusive, and soul-centered framework for understanding the cards

  • Folks who may not have felt seen, heard, or validated by their Tarot readings, and long to nourish a more intimate relationship with the cards

  • Folks who are actively seeking a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent perspective on the Tarot

  • Folks who want to expand their knowledge on the Tarot, and connect with like-minded folks while doing so

What can you expect from me in this space?

For a professional creator and writer who hosts their own podcast and is always running some kind of offering, I am pretty perpetually off-line — I take slow time, screen-free time, and present time with my kid and partner very seriously. Folks who opt into the paid tier of this Substack should feel free to leave comments, just kindly note that I may not always be able to respond to each one, and/or may need a few days to respond, depending on when you leave the comment. I appreciate you and your support and presence so much!
