As the name of this newsletter suggests, I don’t believe that there are any bad or good Tarot cards – all cards bring medicine, and help to invite us back home to the present moment. We don’t have to love every card we pull (to be sure), but we do want to try to reserve and observe our judgments about them, and consider opening to the possibility that the card or cards in question are bringing something helpful to our door. 

It can be useful to keep the spirit of this ethos in mind when considering the following (very frequently asked) question: how can we work with “positive” cards that come up in readings during shitty situations? What if we pull one of these same “positive” cards in a spread or reading around a question about what we’re releasing? Why would we ever want to let a card like The Empress, Ten of Cups, or The Sun go? 

Let’s break down both how we can reframe our perspective around this kind of situation, and how to work through moments when it happens to us below:
