Gentling Ourselves: Your Channeled Reading & Tarot Spread for Libra Season

After I pulled the Tarot cards for this Libra season missive, I closed my eyes and asked to receive a clear theme, word, or phrase to correspond with the energy of the next few weeks. 

Behind my closed eyes, I saw my beloved cat Wee, and how he used to melt when we gave him gentle pets, scratches, and snuggles. 

I saw my two day old daughter, and how much she responded (even then!) to her scalp and hair being gently caressed. 

I saw myself, and how much I loved (love!) to get my hair brushed and my back rubbed.

What I got from Spirit as I dropped in about the theme of Libra season wasn’t so much a word, but an essence, a feeling. What does it mean to feel held, soothed, and gentled? How might we be more bold and assertive in asking for what brings comfort, ease, and relief, even to a minimal degree?

This particular Libra season seems to contain the spirit of all of these things combined and more. It is less verbal, less linear, and much more dream-like and imaginative in nature. It longs to bring a gentling to us, a restoration of our spirit and a softer change to the way we move through this world. It wants more for us, better for us. And if we’re willing to allow the energy of these cards and this season into our lives, it will be successful in its intention. 

Libra is concerned with making things more beautiful, and in reaching for a more just world. It knows that we cannot necessarily always come to a place of greater beauty, equity, and justice without effort, work, and rallying. Libra knows that we cannot do this alone – it knows what it means to fight for things that it believes in, and knows how to connect, bringing different and seemingly disparate elements together. 

From around September 22nd to October 21st, the sun will be in Libra, and during that time, we will be moving through and working with the Tarot energies that are connected to Libra, as well as the Tarot energies that showed up for us in our collective Tarot reading for Libra season.
