I’ve been waiting all summer to hear the sounds of the night insects here in the PNW.
It is a deep and joyous seasonal benchmark in my home, one we look forward to all year. In mid-to-late August, the crickets, owls, and other nocturnal insects burst forth in a symphony of night music, accompanied by the visual tapestry of the stars, the Moon, and the rustle of the trees in the wind. It is truly one of the deepest pleasures and privileges of my life to be outside on these nights, experiencing this kind of sacred, freely offered natural concert.
Virgo season is the sound of the crickets, cicadas, owls, and peepers through the Spiral of the year. It is the Moon and stars. It is the glow of the fireflies. It is the humble flow of the creek, the rising and falling of the Sun. It is devotional, present, here to serve, and freely offered. In exchange, it must be honored, respected, and tended to with care. Virgo both longs to give from this kind of supportive place, and must receive from this place in order to channel down what they are capable of offering in this lifetime. Virgo season is a reckoning, a review – a strong and important audit. What do our nervous systems need? What might bring about more support, a refilling of the well?
From around August 22nd to September 21st, the sun will be in Virgo, and during that time, we will be moving through and working with the Tarot energies that are connected to Virgo, as well as the Tarot energies that showed up for us in our collective Tarot reading for Virgo season.
